Dye Magazine: Now, be honest, how often do you go to the salon to have a trim or get your color touched up?
Ashley Oh Yess: “My husband and I are both hair stylists, so I luckily don’t have to go out to a salon and get my hair done, I just have my husband do it for me right in the comfort of our home :] plus it saves me tons of money! Haha”
Dye Magazine: Are you someone who enjoys spring? Or do the violent winds and pollen drive you bonkers?
Ashley Oh Yess: “I am more of a Fall/Autumn type of gal. But I don’t mind the spring either, I love the smell of all the blooming flowers and with it not being too hot or too cold outside. The only thing I dislike about spring is it makes my allergies go nuts haha.”
Dye Magazine: Do you have any big plans for summer? If not going on vacation, possibly a stay-cation?
Ashley Oh Yess: “I wish I could plan fun things for summer, but I am pretty much always working. My birthday is in June, and my hubby and I plan on visiting Universal Studios Hollywood so we can FINALLY see the new Wizarding World Of Harry Potter. I’m so ready! #teamslytherin. But other than that…just work. D:”
Dye Magazine: Do you follow astrology? What is your sign, and do you think it fits you?
Ashley Oh Yess: “I Follow astrology a little. My sign is Gemini, and I am a Gemini to the T!”
Dye Magazine: Mercury is currently in retrograde. When this astrological event occurs, do you find that it affects your life?
Ashley Oh Yess: “Oh yeah, I feel like it always screws me over haha. All the bad things in my life always happen during this time. Wish me luck!”
Dye Magazine: When driving in the car, how do you pass the time? Do you dance to music, yell at drivers, disagree with talk radio, listen to a book on tape…?
Ashley Oh Yess: “I’m known to bust out in song and dance now and then if the song is amazing. And I’m also a total complainer when it comes to the way other people drive. It’s called a blinker, use it!”
Dye Magazine: What jobs have you done other than being a model?
Ashley Oh Yess: “I am currently a hair stylist, I have been a hair stylist now for about five years or so, and before that, I was making pizzas…worst 2 and a half years of my life!
Dye Magazine: Who is someone that supports your pursuit in the arts?
Ashley Oh Yess: “My husband.”
Dye Magazine: How do they show you that they support you?
Ashley Oh Yess: “He encourages me to jump on photo shoot opportunities whenever they come up. He always likes to tag along shoots with me and film some behind the scenes footage. I am also getting into sideshow stunts, and he is a huge supporter with that, he even HAND MADE me my own bed of nails!”
Dye Magazine: Do you believe there is such a thing as bad art?
Ashley Oh Yess: “I honestly don’t think so. Everyone’s idea of art is different from the next person.”
Dye Magazine: Can you think of any bad art you recently saw and why you thought that?
Ashley Oh Yess: “I can’t think of any, I mean yeah sure sometimes I see something, and I think “what the?” but at the same time, it’s art. and I think everybody’s version of art is beautiful.”
Dye Magazine: What do you hope is the reaction of the viewer when they see these images?
Ashley Oh Yess: “I hope they enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed being a part in creating them! It’s always an amazing time working with Liz, never a disappointment.”
